I’m so glad you’ve joined me here. This slower-paced place I’ve carved out in a little corner of this crazy internet highway shares a two-fold purpose.
I’ve intentionally left the original reason for debuting Truest Voice ~ my story of childhood sexual abuse. My hope in telling is to make sure any other woman with this experience knows she is not alone.
And secondly, my passion for nonfiction (including the telling/writing of my own story) has led me to a new season of sharing the works of others’ nonfiction works through the venue of a radio talk show where I will be hosting a show by the same name ~ Truest Voice. You can find my monthly show on Blog Talk Radio, the Along Came a Writer Network. Scroll through all the shows. Each one is specific to different areas of the writing world. You’ll find Truest Voice as the radio show in our network specific to nonfiction.
My writing journey has included narrative nonfiction, ghostwriting, editing, journalism, and true short stories. ALL nonfiction. ALL in very different venues: books, newspapers, online article, etc. I also co-founded (along with Linda Kozar) Words For The Journey Christian Writers Guild in September of 2004 for writers of all genres inspirational fiction and nonfiction. Whether speaking, teaching, or leading Bible studies, truth and Truth were always at the root. Yet, I confess (as only my closest friends know) I’ve dabbled in fiction a time or two. Those stories are tucked away in some far corner of my computer. Maybe… one day.
Yet, my passion remains nonfiction.
My life outside of writing looks like this ~ I’m a wife (for 36 years now), mother (of three grown children), grammy (to three little loves), and a beloved daughter of God (by His Grace alone). Most mornings you’ll find me in a cozy corner chair, sipping a chai latte while reading inspirational books by some of my favorite authors. I love walks, gentle yoga, and light running (spurred by the necessity of having to chase down the youngest grand who lives for modes of transportation like bikes, scooters, and battery powered vehicles).
